Mark Horowitz

MD, FAAP, FACS

Dr. Horowitz earned his M.D. degree from New York Medical College and completed his Urology training at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn. After completing a two-year fellowship in Pediatric Urology at The Children’s Hospital and Medical Center in Seattle, Dr. Horowitz served as the Director of Pediatric Urology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, and New York Presbyterian Hospital Queens.  He is board-certified in both adult and pediatric urology. He is currently the Director of Pediatric Urology at Staten Island University Hospital and partner at Pediatric Urology Associates. He is an Associate Professor of Urology at New York Presbyterian and Northwell Health.

He is a member of the American Urological Association, American Academy of Pediatrics, Society of Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgeons, and Society for Fetal Urology.

Dr. Horowitz has served on the editorial review board for the Journal of Urology, Urology and the Journal of Andrology. He was a member of the Executive Committee of the Section on Urology of The New York Academy of Medicine. He has authored 15 textbook chapters; published more than 50 articles in peer-reviewed journals and presented more than 75 papers at national meetings. He has been a visiting professor internationally and has participated and led Pediatric Urologic missions overseas. He has served as an editor for the National Association for Continence Newsletter, served on the Plenary session at the Annual Meeting of the American Urological Association, and served as a consultant for the Public Health Implications of Urogenital Disease: A Focus on Overactive Bladder.

His areas of expertise include but are not limited to reconstructive surgery, voiding dysfunction, Spina Bifida, posterior urethral valves and urodynamics, biofeedback and bladder retraining. He has been nominated in New York Magazine: Top Doctors and Castle Connolly Regional Top Doctors every year since 2016.
